About the Area

Located in Montana's Flathhead Valley, Bigfork has something for everyone.

The Village of Bigfork is centered on a charming old main street which is host to festivals, world-class art galleries, fine restaurants and boutique shops and the Bigfork Summer Playhouse, which has been hosting some of the northwest's finest repertory theater for more than 50 years.

Bigfork is located on Flathead Lake, the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi and in a region of national parks, state and national forests and protected areas equal to the size of the state of Vermont. Hiking, mountain biking, fishing, boating, world-class skiing and golf are only some of the recreational opportunities available in Bigfork's backyard.

Bigfork is less than 20 miles from Kalispell, the commercial hub of the Flathead Valley. Kalispell offers flight connections through Glacier International Airport as well as extensive shopping, commercial and medical facilities. The resort town of Whitefish with its renowned skiing is located only 15 miles past Kalispell.
